The Unorthodox Emancipation of Your Altruistic Copywriter

Hey there!
I'm August, a freelance copywriter who's dedicated to helping performance coaches skyrocket their email marketing game! While my journey may have been a bit unorthodox, it's what has shaped me and brought me here today. Coming from a middle-class family, I was expected to follow the conventional path of going to school and becoming an engineer of some sorts. I tried my best to honour their wishes and started studying media and communication in high school, which enabled me to receive a study competence. This was where I discovered my passion for writing! I also gained broad knowledge in marketing, graphic design, and related fields. Despite this newfound love, I realised that traditional schooling just wasn't for me. So, instead of continuing down that lane, I decided to join the Norwegian Armed Forces. (Unknowing that writing in of itself was a possible occupation.) After a year in the army, I learned the brilliant consequences derived from hard work, dedication, and proper physical health. To put it in simple terms, I was feeling like an absolute machine! I decided I was ready to take my military career to the next level by becoming a specialised professional in the telemark battalion. Which is part of the Norwegian Army's Rapid Reaction Force. I made it to the final admission test. (Which consists of a brutal 50 hour physical test.) I was stoked, over the moon, ready to show the world what I had to offer! Unfortunately, I managed to obtain shin splints in both my legs only 3 weeks before the final admission test. I still attended though. But despite my best efforts, I had to admit defeat... I was back to square one, living the empty life of a bottom feeder... But! I'm quick on my feet, and managed to land a safe job in construction. While it wasn't my dream job, it gave me the freedom to pursue other opportunities. And that! Ladies and gentlemen... is when I stumbled upon copywriting. It resonated with me immediately. I just knew that THIS was the opportunity I had been eagerly waiting for. With only the tiniest bit of experience, and a vague idea of how to turn my writing skills into a profitable career, I started searching the internet for guidance. It was overwhelming at first, and I almost gave up on my dream. But, during the darkest hour is usually where you get the brightest lightbulb-moments. So, I decided to hire a mentor, and it was the best decision I ever made. After that, it was all smooth sailing through hard work. And even though my choice-of-path may have been unorthodox, it still lead me to the right harbour. And if we fast forward till present day, then I'm proud to say that I'm a freelance copywriter helping performance coaches take their businesses to the next level.
